About this course

The Console Board Repair Masterclass is the deep practice behind the surface-level repair course. Where standard repairs swap whole boards or obvious parts, this masterclass teaches you to read, test and fix the board itself.

Starting with reading a motherboard without schematics, you will learn how traces, planes, power rails and reference designators work - then apply that to testing components, finding shorts, and repairing the chip-level faults that kill most consoles.

Work through real fault classes on the bench: dead boards, no-power, blown EC/SIO chips, shorted ICs, the PS4 White Light of Death, HDMI port and trace damage, and the retimer and ESD circuits that kill video on modern Xbox and Switch consoles.
