About this course

Charm making is one of the most rewarding crafts you can learn on a tabletop budget - in one sitting you can turn a few blocks of clay, a drop of resin or a sheet of shrink plastic into a tiny, wearable, personal object.

This course teaches the four main ways to craft a charm, side by side. You will start by choosing your materials and tools and setting up a compact, affordable workspace.

Then you will master **polymer clay**: conditioning, colour mixing, sculpting cute shapes and embedded keychains, and baking and finishing them to a professional shine. Next you will move into **resin charms**: safe mixing, colour and glitter, embedding tiny objects, and doming every piece to that glossy, gem-like finish.

The third craft is **beading and wirework**: findings, jump rings and clasps, wire wrapping headpins, and building finished beaded charm bracelets, earrings and keychains - plus shrink-plastic keychains you draw yourself.

Finally you will turn your craft into a small business: packaging and photography, honest pricing, and the first practical steps to selling online or at a local market.

Requirements

A flat, clean tabletop with good light
- A basic craft kit: pliers, wire cutters, craft knife, toothpicks and a hole punch
- One beginner pack of polymer clay or a small shrink-plastic kit to start
- No prior craft experience required
