About this course

The PlayStation 2 is the best-selling games console ever made, and there are still millions of them in homes, repair shops and classrooms. This hands-on course turns you into a confident PS2 technician.

Starting from the inside out, you will learn the hardware that makes the PS2 tick, how to open it safely, how to clean and maintain it, how to diagnose the classic faults (no power, disc read errors, dead controllers, missing video) and how to fix them.

You will also learn the legal side of modding - what FreeMcBoot and homebrew really are, what is legal, what is not, and how to manage memory cards, save data and game storage responsibly.

By the end you will be able to service a PS2 from open to close, explain its faults clearly, and handle mods and backups the right way.
