The routine

Before you begin

Reconfirm the four pre-checks: the firmware is the one your host supports, the console is offline, the files are verified, and the power is stable. Run the pre-checks even if you did them an hour ago.

The flow

  1. Open the PS4 web browser and go to the host page for your firmware
  2. Launch the exploit from the host - the page will run and reload
  3. Wait for the success indicators the guide describes
  4. Install the homebrew payload/package from your USB drive
  5. Confirm homebrew appears and runs

Confirming success

A successful jailbreak shows the expected signs: a working homebrew menu, apps that launch, and the firmware still showing its original version number. If any of those is missing, stop and troubleshoot before going further.

Tip: Every supported firmware has its own host page and its own quirks. Use the guide that matches your exact firmware - do not mix versions.
Warning: A jailbreak that "kind of worked" is a console waiting for trouble. Confirm it cleanly or reset the state before continuing.
